I have added more Christmas photos to my Flickr. The Christmas madness has begun around here and I have a ton of stuff on my 'To Do' list.
The snow is really coming down. They are expecting 3-5" tonight with another 6-10" tomorrow. I'll grab some pictures and post them to Flickr. Hopefully the snow will stick around and we'll have a while Christmas.
Love and Blessings to everyone!

We bought a new TV and it was delivered on Friday. It worked great for a while and we were super happy with our purchase. Unftunately, we turned it off to go make dinner and when we turned it back on after dinner it looked like this.... Hopefully Amazon will replace it quickly. It was a great TV the 6 hrs. or so it was woking.... :(

As you can see, we now have stairs on the deck! We're almost there. Fred spent most of the weekend working on the deck, Dad came down to help yesterday and Bob came down to help today.
I spent the day today making raspberry stuffed french toast, chocolate chip cookies and taking down about 8 feet for grapevines off the fence near the driveway. Pictures can be found on my Flickr site.
Hope everyone else took advantage of the extra hour today like we did! Have a great week!

In addition to creating some yummy food I also worked on a few projects I have had planned for around the house. Take a look.
Tomorrow I'll have pictures of the deck and the raspberry cream cheese stuffed french toast I am making for breakfast!

I just wanted to make sure to mark the 4th Anniversary of my quitting smoking. On Halloween 2003 I smoked my last cigarette. Since then, the only time I've smoked has been in my dreams.
In the past 4 years I have noticed a distinct improvement in my health, especially as far as colds and sinus problems go. If you haven't quit smoking you should. It is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself if you are a smoker. There is a program out there for everyone. If you need an ear, let me know, I’d be more than happy to share my experience.

We're home from Boston! We had a great time. We celebrated Grandpop's 92nd Birthday (10/26), toured downtown Boston and walked the Freedom Trail, visited Plimoth Pantation and the Mayflower II and saw Karin & Richard.
Check out my Flickr site for pictures from our day downtown. Hopefully I can get Plimoth pics up tomorrow, if not, then soon.

The deck is really starting to look like a deck now. Dad and Fred got some of the decking on, then it started to rain. Luckily, tomorrow is only supposed to be cloudy so hopefully we'll have more decking up.
In other backyard news, I took out a bunch of the plants in the garden. We've decided to take out the section of garden next to the garage and the section against the back fence. Also, we no longer have Hostas!!! We do however have 3 lawn bags full of what used to be garden.
I'll post an update on the deck tomorrow.

Fred and Dad really got a lot done on the deck today. So much in fact, that Fred and I went to go buy the decking since the rough in will be finished tomorrow. With the sunny cool day it was a good day to work outside.
I added a picture of the patio concrete back when we started working on the deck project to my Flickr account, take a look.
Check back tomorrow for another update. Maybe we'll have some decking!!!
Take a gander at the newest addition to my camera gear, the TrekPod Go! It is a tripod/monopod/trekking stick all in one. It has a magnetic mounting system, is made of aluminum and packs down to an easy to carry size! It is made by Trek-Tech and more information can be found here.

Fred and I each have a host of projects going on, which are keeping us nice and busy. Most of mine are Christmas present related so you will forgive me for not going into any detail. You all will thank me come December for not spoiling the suprise!
One project I can talk about is our conversion from broken concrete patio to deck out back. The buidling permit was approved on Monday so now we can really get to work. I'm excited to have a nice space to sit out back. The deck, when it is finished, will be 10' x 13'. Look for updates as the project progresses.
The other project is my planned re-organization of the office. Right now it is pink with open book shelves. For my birthday I recieved a new desk which is very nice and I just picked up a chair to add some seating besides my office chair. My plan is to paint the room Baize Green (Sherwin Williams color) and get some closed storage. Also Fred and I should probably look to shed some books, or at least put away some of the ones we don't read.
On another note: I just want to get an idea if anyone is actually reading my posts or not so give me a shout in the comments section if you're out there.

This morning I spent my time at the Royal Oak Farmer's market. Not only did I come home with a bag full of delicious goodies, but I also came home with a camera full of photos!
I met a number of nice and interesting people. Many people asked me if I was taking a photo class, one gentleman and I discussed DSLR's, and one man even asked if he had to sign a model release! I tried not to take pictures of people who didn't know I was photographing them. The woman in the photos has a booth full of interesting things, including a whole rack of silly glasses. She was nice enough to allow me to take her picture. It was a great morning!
I have uploaded a number of my favorites to my Flickr site, so go take a look!

This is the other part of my crafting nook (a little messy right now, but I am still organizing). These shelves were in th house when we bought it. However, they are made of MDF and the previous owner only painted the front of the shelves and the top. A few months ago, I took out a few shelves, painted the inside of the cubby and both sides of the shelves which I think made them look "finished" finally. I think they turned out great.

I haven't had any occasion to use my camera in the past few days so I am going to post some pics I didn't post before one of Mason and 3 from the Clawson car show. Enjoy!

1. Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
2. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
3. Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM
Here they are in all their glory (as taken with my Sony Cybershot W70).
Now I just need a longer zoom lens, and I have recently been eyeing other lenses, but I think I have my fix, for the moment anyway. I do need a flash though, and a tripod and a better bag (looking at the Tamrac Expedition 4), and...
I'll post pictures taken with my new lens later. As long as it doesn't rain Fred and I will be heading to A & W for the Thursday night cruise so I should be able to get some shots there. I need new shots of the Beetle anyway, now that Fred waxed it it is shiny. I have never seen it polished before in all my 5+ years with Fred!

I started this mostly to post pictures that I have taken (Flickr site here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/racergirl13/), but also to post about my life.
With that said... here we go.
